Marta Garcia moves to p3 after solid races in Interlagos

The Spanish driver showed great consistency in the fourth round of the W Series Esports League hosted on a shiny Autódromo José Carlos Pace finishing Race 1 and Race 3 in second position. Marta has moved from fifth to third in the championship standings.

Marta García, 19, was a solid pole fighter in Qualifying 1, missing out by only two tenths of a second, but the driver from Valencia did a great start and immediately took the lead of Race 1 after Turn 1. She led with consistency until she was passed by the championship leader Beitske Visser nine minutes before the chequered flag. Another good punch of points for the scoring!

In Race 2, the reverse grid allocated Marta at the end of the grid, but from the start, Marta was able to scale four positions featuring some great moves. As an experienced driver, she avoided the chaos between some of the other participants and progressed all the way to p5 with six minutes to go! Again, this position gave her some valuable points!

Qualifying 2 saw a strong Marta García posting the second fastest lap by only 0.092 seconds off pole! The longest race of the round allowed the fans to enjoy twenty minutes of intense racing, with nice battles in the mid-field, while Marta established herself in a solid second position. For a moment, we saw the Spaniard potentially ready to battle Visser for P1, but the Dutch racer pushed to open the gap. Marta crossed the line in second place ahead of Irina Sidorkova.

With two second positions and one fifth, Marta García has moved into third place in the W Series Esports League! Week 5 awaits the Spaniard in the Ardennes, with the mythic Eau Rounge at Spa-Francorchamps, another must-see round of racing that will be worth watching, up next on July 9.

Marta García: “I’m happy to have showed myself as one of the more consistent racers in the W Series Esports League. Every week we improve and get further ahead! Still a long way to go in the League though and moving to p3 in the standings is proof of the progress.  Really can’t wait to get to the next event now at another great Circuit – Spa-Francorchamps!”
